What Others Are Saying
"Our children have thrived at Small Blessings! It’s a nurturing environment with teachers who really care. We are confident when our children are at Small Blessings that they not only are in capable hands, but they also are learning, growing, and having a fantastic time!"

About
Parents & Teachers Working Together to Raise Up Tomorrow's Leaders!
“Train up a child in the way he should go, even when he is old he will not depart from it.”
(Proverbs 22:6)
Today’s
children will become tomorrow’s leaders, teachers and parents. It is
critical that teachers and families work together creating the
social/emotional, physical, cognitive, and language foundations needed
for children’s life-long success. Together we help children develop
curious minds that will change the future.
Small
Blessings is one of the most versatile and family-focused childcare
centers in Indianapolis. We offer families and children an organic
multi-age learning platform. Our 17,600 square foot facility, which
opened in February 2002, is independently owned and operated by Lee Ann
Balta, one of the most respected early childhood educators in central
Indiana. The facility features a large multipurpose room, a sick bay
with separate entrance and large classrooms with neutral décor to avoid
over stimulation.
Through word and deed we believe in parents as partners as we help to Raise Up children to become tomorrow’s leaders.
Christian Environment Staff
frames its culture and teaching environments within a Christian-based
philosophy of care—moral, ethical and social contexts. We provide an
environment where everyone feels safe, welcome and included. While we
work in a Christian environment and culture, we do not discriminate based
on personal family religious beliefs. We welcome all families and
children.
Project Learning Children
have a strong disposition to explore and discover. The Project Approach
builds on natural curiosity, enabling children to interact, question,
connect, problem-solve, communicate, reflect, and more. This kind of
authentic learning extends beyond the classroom to each student’s home,
community, nation, and the world. It essentially makes learning the
stuff of real life and children active participants in and shapers of
their worlds.
Multi-Age Learning Platform Teachers
utilize a multi-age classroom and academic platform starting at age one
that offers an organic environment for children to learn at their
academic pace and style. Multi-age environments create a learning
atmosphere based on developmental levels rather than age with research
showing positive social and educational outcomes.
- Research shows that 9 out of 10 students in multi-age environments perform academically as well as or better than their peers in traditional age group classrooms.
- Additionally, research showed students in multiage settings were more likely than their peers to have positive self-concepts, high self-esteem, and good attitudes toward school.
Accredited Small Blessings is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. We also are accredited by the State of Indiana Paths to Quality that focuses on high-quality, early-learning experiences to prepare children for future success in school, work and life.
